Food Allergies
KC was diagnosed with food allergies early on because she was not gaining weight, her GERD was unmanageable and she was consistently battling ongoing constipation because of an inability to digest foods appropriately.

EOE
After 5 years of tests and meeting with doctors at Mott's, Beaumont and CHOA, Kennedy was diagnosed with EOE. The damage that was caused during that time, ultimately required that her to be on a liquid diet of shakes for almost 12 weeks to allow her esophagus to heal. It was one of many dynamic challenges that she had to overcome.

Hearing & Vision
As she could communicate more succinctly, we realized that she had substantial vision and hearing issues. She ultimately needed hearing aids due to 40-50% hearing loss and auditory processing issues. They are unclear if the losses were caused by the other health issues, nutrition loss when she was growing or her brain cyst.

Mold Detox
In 2020, we started to realize that some of the health dynamics were masking other issues. From 8-11 years old she stopped growing and gaining weight - frozen at 48 lbs and a little under 4ft. Her endocrine system was not producing the hormones she needed to grow or start puberty. After years of tests, we made the difficult decision to put her on HGH. We feel very lucky that her body reacted quickly gaining 50 lbs and 14 inches in 18 months (and yes we learned to do shots on the go and KC self injected), but still worry about the long-term implications.
